Paul (Tripp) Guthrie, R.Ph.
Hayworth Cancer Center, High Point Regional Health System, High Point, NC
Chemotherapy medications are a scary yet necessary reality for many cancer treatments. Hospital pharmacist Tripp Guthrie brings 30 years of experience and a passion for working with chemotherapy patients to the GPS team. While he’s a behind-the-scenes player in cancer care, he’s a vital part of the team dedicated to fighting cancer — one person at a time.
Tripp’s maternal grandmother’s experience with colon cancer helped him understand how a cancer diagnosis not only abruptly changes the patient’s life but also the lives of the patient’s loved ones. “In that one quick moment you and your family are placed in a situation that you have such little knowledge of. My family members immediately had so many questions about this disease that they wanted and needed answered. They needed to feel some degree of control of the situation and their life.”
